Training on Dachstein Glacier

As the winter approaches and before the teams migrate to the Scandinavian darkness, hundreds of biathletes and cross-country skiers can be found daily on the Dachstein Glacier above Ramsau, Austria. Among those on the glacier on Wednesday were the German men and a single member of the German women's squad; Miriam Gössner.

Yet despite those typical small setbacks every athlete has each year, Gössner feels she is making progress and is excited about the new biathlon season. Her season was cut short last year, due to the lingering effects of a cycling accident in the spring of 2013 that put her in the hospital and completely out of training for several months. The always-smiling Gössner offers an update on her training and goals for this year in the following video, "Miriam Gössner: Back In Business."
